Beth Baldwin Tigges, PhD, RN, PNP, BC

Associate Professor

Dr. Tigges joined the University of New Mexico College of Nursing as a Lecturer in 1989 and taught in the FNP and CNM concentrations for 17 years.  Since then, she has held several leadership positions within the College of Nursing including Interim Senior Associate Dean for Research.  She is currently the Director of Evaluation for the NIH-funded UNM Clinical and Translational Science Center and teaches in the PhD program.  Her major areas of interest and research are adolescent risk behaviors and psychosocial determinants of health behavior, recruitment strategies for community-based studies, and evaluation of research centers.

She received her BSN from Pennsylvania State University, MSN from Yale University as Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, and PhD in Public Health and Social Psychology from Columbia University.
