Congratulations to Dr. Laura Brennaman, PhD, RN, CEN, on her recent appointment to two state health-related boards in Florida. Dr. Brennaman has been appointed to the Florida Health Insurance Advisory Board by Florida Insurance Commissioner Kevin McCarty, and to the Consumer Health Information and Policy Advisory Council by the Agency for Health Care Administration Secretary Elizabeth Dudek.
Dr. Brennaman’s appointments help further the goal of the Nurses on Boards Coalition, a group of national nursing organizations working together to increase nurses’ presence on corporate and non-profit health-related boards of directors throughout the country. The Coalition hopes to place 10,000 nurses on boards by 2020.
Dr. Brennaman acknowledged the role that the RWJF Nursing and Health Policy Collaborative played in her appointments, saying that “the efforts of the Collaborative have been successful in providing me with the credentials.”
Dr. Brennaman brings a wealth of nursing knowledge to both of these boards. We are confident that she will continue to leave her footprint on health policy initiatives within Florida and beyond.
Congratulations, Dr. Brennaman!
